Maserati Reveals the New Face of Its Core Lineup

The trio that makes the core of Maserati‘s lineup is getting some attention for 2027. The GranTurismo coupe, GranCabrio convertible, and Grecale SUV will receive a swath of updates, from tweaked exterior and interior design to powertrain enhancements. Perhaps you won’t like what they mean for the brand’s looks, but you should like what they bring to its performance.

The big story here is the updated grille on just about everything, but the changes go beyond skin-deep. The GranTurismo and GranCabrio Trofeo models get a power bump, now topping out at 582 horsepower, up from 542. If you were hoping for a new high-output model or perhaps a V8, then you’ll have to walk away disappointed… for now, anyway.

I’m partial to the old, more rounded grille; the new one reminds me a bit of Porsche’s recent attempts at a wide-mouth look. It’s not nearly as unflattering as some of those treatments, but I’m not prepared to call it an improvement over the previous getup.

With this new face, the Grecale and the sporty twins are now more in line with the styling vision first introduced with the MCXtrema, and brought to the road in the GT2 Stradale.

Inside, Maserati’s most proud of its new steering wheel and clock, but there’s also a new gear selector with “three-dimensional controls” in “premium metal.” I’m no designer, but I’m pretty sure those are just called “buttons.”

If you count yourself in Maserati’s audience of EV fans, all three electric Folgore variants got some love. Not only did they benefit from the same exterior updates, but all received new battery management systems that have boosted their total driving range. The GranTurismo and GranCabrio will offer 249 and 251 miles of range, respectively, while the Grecale Folgore now promises nearly 270.
